Hey everyone!

Did you have a fabulous time at Animé Los Angeles ‘10? (I know I did!) Did you enjoy the posters decorating the halls of the convention? Did you wonder how you could get some of YOUR best pictures on the walls?

Good news! Animé Los Angeles’s Decor Department is already collecting photography submissions for next year’s posters! We want EVEN MORE posters in 2011 and that means we’re going to need even more submissions from all of you!

So while you’re filtering through the great photos you took at the con, pop some of them over to our “pix2011″ e-mail address. (High resolution please – at least 800 pixels as the smallest dimension).

We’re not just looking for great photos of cosplayers (although those are more than welcome!). We’re also looking for photos of people at the Con Suite, people roaming the hallways, pictures of cosplay chess, masquerade and other events! Or even just you and your friends having a great time! All photos are welcome and will be watermarked with credit to you (unless specified otherwise).

So submit your shots! The next thing you know, YOUR photos could be all over the hallways of Animé Los Angeles 7~!

Dealers setup (2010)

Dealers may start arriving for load-in for Animé Los Angeles 6 at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 until 10:00 p.m. and will open again for load-in and set-up on the following day at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010.

Regular vehicles (cars/vans not higher than 6′ 4″ without a trailer) will proceed to the front of the LAX Marriott and down the circular ramp. There, they will be directed by a volunteer to parking spaces set-aside for their use just inside the employee parking area. All other vehicles (trucks, oversize vans, vehicles pulling trailers) must go around the back of the LAX Marriott and use the hotel’s loading dock. Dealers may not leave their vehicle(s) unattended along the lower circular drive or they will be immediately towed by LAX Marriott.

Due to the limitations on time and space, Animé Los Angeles would like to ask all Dealers to respect fellow Dealers and prepare their cargo in such a way where load-in is done on a timely manner so that other Dealers may load-in in a timely manner as well.

Last minute things you need to know (2010)

At the door memberships are $50 for the whole weekend. $20 or $30 for one day depending on the day. Cash, check or charge accepted. No student or group discounts at the door. “Parent-in-Tow” policy still applies: members 14 and younger may bring a grown-up for free.

There is a Parent’s Lounge on the first floor near the Con Suite, the “Palm Desert” room. There will be a house phone — use your cell phone to call the hotel operator at 310-641-5700, or pick up any house phone, and ask to be connected to the Palm Desert room.

Registration (pre-reg pickup only) will be open about 4:00 pm Thursday. There will be an ice cream social and dance that night. Other things will be going on Thursday — set-up of the convention in general, and there will be a reg bag stuffing work party that day. (Program Book is being delivered just in time for that.)

Registration Friday, Saturday and Sunday will open at 9:00 am. Most “daytime” aspects of the convention start at 10:00 am, with a handful of exceptions, for example the first live program item is Opening Ceremonies at 12:00 pm Friday, and the video room opens at 9:00 am. Schedule will be posted here this weekend.

It is probably too late to make a reservation in our room block. But if it still works, the group code to use at www.laxmarriott.com is ANIANIA.

There are probably other last-minute questions: post them here (and read the other comments) and we’ll answer them to the best of our ability.
