OMG they’re still letting people reserve rooms at the convention rate! Go to laxmarriott.com, use our group code ANIANIA before they come to their senses and close our room block!

As of 2009-12-25, 14 days before the convention, we have 1750 members pre-registered. Last year we had 1506 members this many days out, so we’re ahead by almost 250.

Pre-registration is closed. Memberships will be available starting on Thursday 2010-01-07. Full weekend memberships will be $50. One-day memberships will be $20 for Friday, $30 for Saturday, and $20 for Sunday. As always, members 14 and younger may bring a grown-up for free.

Six Live Program Rooms and more (2010)

Posted: December 22nd, 2009 | Author: Hazel Chaz | Filed under: Live Program/Events | Tags: | 3 Comments »

More things going on at Animé Los Angeles than ever before, this year.

Live programs in LP1, LP2, LP3, LP4, LP5, and LP6. Another room for autograph sessions, and a completely different room for the Photo Studio (they’re not sharing a room this year). A room for concerts. Tabletop games, Video Games, Karaoke, and at night a Rock Band Video Game room. One room just for Maid Cafe/Host Club demos hosted by different maid/host groups.

And Friday’s turning out to be a very busy day. You’ve probably heard about the Fashion Show, Cosplay Chess, Spoony Bards performing, the other concerts in the music room, the Rum Party, dances every night. (Plus one on Day Zero during set-up, and another one Sunday during tear-down.)

And the pool deck with so many cosplay gatherings. The Con Suite, Fanzine Lounge, and Parents’ Lounge. (If you need to check in with your grown-up, if they’re hanging out there you can call 310-641-5700 or pick up a hotel phone, and ask for the Palm Desert Room.)

And of course, the Dealers Room, Artists’ Alley, Fan Tables, Costume Repair Station, art benches, and more beanbags than ever. All the trimmings.

We’re poised and ready to hit the ground running in a few short weeks. Tell your friends! Pre-registration still open until Christmas.

Hello, adventurous con-goers and welcome to Animé Los Angeles 6’s Artists’ Alley, that part of the convention where you can find everything from fan art of your favorite characters, to pins, buttons, and badges — and, if it’s up your ‘alley,’ you can even get custom art of nearly anything you can imagine. Schedule – Rough Outline

Here’s what we know about the convention schedule so far. Stay tuned to the website for further updates. This article will be updated from time to time as the schedule solidifies. This list is incomplete — it’s what I was able to remember off the top of my head. You can post questions in the comments, especially if I’ve overlooked some critical feature of the convention.

Thursday (Day Zero)

On-site Registration open approx 4pm. Pre-reg pickup and at-con registration will both be available.

Ice Cream Social and Dance in the evening, about 7 or 8 o’clock.

Also load-in and set-up will be happening all around. Gophers/Volunteers Desk will be open so you can get volunteer-hour credits for helping us, if you like.
