27-29 January 2006
You can browse the web page of the whole
weekend, browse individual pages for each day, or print out the 4-page
PDF we used to print the pocket programs.
Attention minors and parents/guardians
If you plan to volunteer or enter the masquerade, and you're under 18,
we'll need your parent or guardian's signature on the appropriate forms.
You can print the PDF file and bring it to the convention. Also, many high
schools now have a community-service clause for graduation. We are a
non-profit organization which usually qualifies; if you'd like such credit
for
your volunteer hours, be sure to bring the appropriate form from your
school.
Join at the door for $40.
(One price covers all 3 days.)
Online pre-registration is CLOSED. See you at the
convention!
Address of hotel: 7277 Valjean Ave., Van Nuys. CA 91406. Maps available
Animé Los Angeles 2 is a new fan-run convention,
"on the
other side of the year" -- in the winter, instead of the summer like so many of the other fine events that celebrate the animé/manga industry. We want to have a nice little fan gathering and have some fun.
Take a look around that website and learn more information about our winter
convention.
More photo spots! Since our convention is in the winter, you can wear those
layered costumes you never get to show off in the summer. We'll have more of the hotel's grounds to play around in, so there will be more good locations for photos.
Animé Los Angeles Mascot

This is "Ala," the new mascot for Animé Los Angeles, submitted by
Yukiko.
She likes sunny yellow clothes, but wears leg warmers in case it's chilly.
Thin, lanky, and almost all legs; she has a pixie-ish face with
large dark eyes. She has black hair with large bangs that split off to
either side. She wears two low ponytails that are twisted and curled up to
look like large hoops. She seems to almost always have a hint of a smile on
her face.
Ala is an anime/manga/Japanese fan. She would get excited when an event
takes place nearby and doesn't hesitate to help promote it.
She's not a rabid "Otaku", but enjoys many aspects of it all and
perhaps could fall into a fad or two. She's not overly shy and thinks
everyone should have as much fun as she does in her hobby. But she's not
an obsessive glomper. That's a little too excitable for her.
Animé Los Angeles T-Shirts

We have the t-shirt art ready for viewing. T-shirts are $20, $25 for the jumbo sizes; people who pre-paid can
pick up shirt at convention, people who pre-paid and added $4 for postage will get their shirt
mailed to them as soon as we have them.
Thanks for all your support.
