Job duties: create a Volunteers/Committee & Staff Form. (You can adapt last year's form.) Record volunteer hours with con members who wish to volunteer their time to help the con at move-in, during the convention, and move-out. Communicate with different con departments regarding volunteer needs. Create a schedule and make sure all volunteer hours are recorded. Create a prize awards list (goodies for volunteer hours) to be displayed and communicated to draw in volunteers. Distribute earned prizes to volunteers established by awards list.
When someone walks up to the Volunteers Desk, we need to be able to send them on an assignment somewhere right away -- because otherwise we'll probably lose them. This department will need to coordinate with Recruiting -- Recruiting is pre-convention, Volunteers is the on-site department. Contact Arlene Satin, Administration Division head for more info. |
