This will be my first year participating at ANIME LA Artist Alley. I have a fews questions:
Last year I saw the tables where up against walls - can we put up anything on the walls? Let's say one those removable hooks to hang a t-shirt or two?
Are we going to have assigned seating? If so, when are we going to get the seating arrangements? It would be nice to get to know who I'm going to sit next to.

You can only use blue Painter's tape to put things up on the walls. Anything else leaves a residue, and the hotel will shave Chaz's beard and ears if that happens. So, no hooks.
No Assigned seating. AA isn't big enough to warrant that yet. So if you want a table A over Table F, you need to get there before anyone else.

More questions from a newbie~
On the seller's permit, what do I put in the Business Landlord section (#47)? The Hotel or Anime LA?
Also, how would I calculate Projected Monthly Taxable Sales (#51)? Is it based on my estimate in #50?
Does ALA have a telephone number? #81 asks for the telephone number for the Organizer or promoter of event.
Artits' Alley Rule #3: Mass production of the above mentioned (taking the artwork and sending it to a printing company) is not allowed. But I am allowed to make copies of prints at Staples or Kinko's, just as long as the quantity is limited...? Or am I supposed to print things out of my own printer?
Moreover, do you want us artists to print out the Artists' Alley Rules, sign it, and bring it to all days of the convention (along with the permit)?
*bombards with questions* ^^;;;

I still remember being absolutely horrified when the blue painters tape took off the strangely rough green paint anyway last year D: (Well, then there was the table that put out packaging tape on the walls... that was their bad.) I'll bring the blue tape, but I'll sure do some spot checking anyway just in case.

Since the app processing depends on who is doing it, I can only tell you what I put on mine (can't guarentee it'll work for you, so don't kill me if your app gets returned ^_^;;; ) I put down "none" for business address and only put on my home address as the mailing address since I do not run a business out of my house, but that is where I want them to send my permit. I put down "I do not sell from home" in the business address line, so I just put down "n/a" on the business landlord and all that stuff.
I put down n/a in 50 and 51 as well, since I don't run a regular business (your estimate for the event sale is on page 2 of the form)
You want to put down the hotel in box 82. I could not find the phone number for ALA either and left it blank and that was fine for my form.
They made me fill out the "name of major california based suppliers", box 63 even though I told them I'm selling art and commissions and not reselling things, so I put down the art supply store I usually go to ^_^;;;; You will also need the name of a financial institution, box 59.
Oh yeah, if you haven't sent off the app yet, you might want to just go to the Board of Equalization office listed on the website and hand it in in person so you can get that permit the same day. It's December already and things tend to get stuck in the mail longer. And also if they have a problem, you would be able to fix it right there instead of mail it all again and praying it gets there on time.

In one of the emails I received from the emailing list it said: Yes, this is always a concern. On the rules, when I say "Send it out," I do literally mean "send it out." A trip that you take to Kinko's to use their equipment does not count as "mass producing," as you are still doing the work yourself. In the cases where they won't let you use the equipment, they have to do it for you, there should still be personal contact between you and the clerk so that you can oversee what he's doing as he's doing it. Essentially, don't e-mail it and have the printed copies shipped to you from the printer's.

I think you have to show on the first day and they'll keep it... http://anjidadistroyer.deviantart.com/

Thanks! I guess I will have to find some sort of self standing bar/rack for my tees.

So, what time can I be there on Friday to get my table? And will that table be mine for the all 3 days? In case I have to leave for an hour for lunch I don't want to come back and my table in taken. http://anjidadistroyer.deviantart.com/
