Do you know if they are planning on any type of renovations (such as what was going on at this year's hotel) during the time of the con for '09?

sounds interesting, though I hate going to LAX. Maybe we'll get to do a little tour as well this time around. I'm saving up for the trip.

No, I don't know. The only thing I've heard a rumor about is possible renovation of Meridian, but that's not part of what we're getting.
