Animé Los Angeles 13 Live Program Panel Application Guidelines

Live Program Panel Applications will be accepted from 16 September 2016 through 21 October 2016.

There are different ways that you can participate in Animé Los Angeles Live Programming.

Program Types – Below is a description of each form of programming participation:

Panel – Any type of presentation or discussion on topics selected by the Panelist.

Workshop – Similar to a Panel except has a highlight on participation of audience. Workshops require that you provide material/tools as needed. Room will be set up classroom-style.

Demo – Live demo such as a martial arts or weapons display. This may also accommodate dance or other type of class that requires a large open room. Room is set open with chairs along the walls only. No stage is available. Tech is limited to audio only (no projection equipment is available).

Please note that any 18+ programming must be scheduled after 10PM and will require the room to be cleared after the previous panel so that we can ensure all attendees are over 18.

Badges (Memberships):

You will be eligible for up to a maximum of four (4) Full Weekend memberships per APPROVED programming item. You may have as many people on your programming item as you would like, but anyone over the initial four (4) MUST pay for a membership in order to be listed as a program participant.

ONLY those people included in the initial panel application will be considered for complimentary memberships. You will NOT be able to add people after you have sent in your submission.

“In character” panels, such as “Ask a character” and other cosplay improv events are generally not eligible for free badges.

If you have already purchased or otherwise obtained your membership for Animé Los Angeles 13, you will not receive an additional membership. If you are Staff or are getting your membership for free (pass-on, prize, etc.) you will not receive an additional membership.

No transfers, roll-overs, pass-ons, or refunds will be given. Animé Los Angeles is a volunteer-run convention sponsored by the Institute for Specialized Literature Inc., an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We thank you for your support.


Parking is NOT covered as part of your programming item. You are responsible for ALL parking charges while attending Animé Los Angeles 13. If you are staying at one of our hotels, parking is free. If you are coming in for the day and will be parking at the Convention Center, parking is $7/per day.

Time Slots:

Typical programming items run one hour. There will be a 15 minute break between each programming item for transition/tear-down/set-up of next item.

You may request more than one hour, but please be advised that we anticipate a LARGE number of programming requests. In order to accommodate as many as possible, and to ensure an even variety, we may need to limit programming requests over one hour.

Programming will run: Thursday approximately 5 PM to 10 PM; Friday from 11:00 AM to 2 AM; Saturday 10 AM to 2 AM; and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. Note ALL TIMES are approximate and subject to change. Please be advised that if you select a time block option, you may in fact get scheduled for that time. This is especially important for late-night programming.

Programming Locations:

Please note that programing will be taking place in both the Ontario Convention Center and the Radisson Ontario Airport (across the street from the Convention Center).


Most programming rooms will have a standard set-up including Projector, Screen, Sound System, Mics (excluding Live Demo panel room). Laptop connections will be available for standard connections. If you have anything special, you will need to consult with Tech Dept. before your programming item. Please check in with Programming Check-In for any tech questions AT LEAST 2 hours before your programming item.

We do NOT have laptops available for use. You must provide your own.

Tech set-ups are based on room size and capacity. Larger rooms will get a larger screen, more/different mics, etc.

There will be NO options for last minute or on-site additions. If you have ANY special tech requests beyond what is noted above, you MUST contact us in advance of the convention to determine if we will be able to meet your needs. Please note that the answer may be ‘no’, but if we do not hear about it in advance then we will not be able to accommodate any last minute or on-site requests. This INCLUDES cables, special attachments, batteries, Johnson rods, etc.


If your programming request is Approved you will be asked to check in with Programming Check-In a minimum of 30 minutes before each program item so we can confirm everything is set correctly, if you have any questions, need assistance locating the program room, etc.

We ask you check in with Programming Check-In before each of your program items (if more than one).

Please note that information provided such as names, bios, and other information submitted in the programming application may be printed in the program guide/website/etc.


Submission Deadline is 21 October 2016.
