Help Wanted, various departments
Our convention is run entirely by volunteers. None of us get paid, not even the chair or treasurer.
These are some of the areas throughout the convention where we know we need help this year. (See also our Full Staff Roster to get an idea for which departments are still short on staff.)
Main Program Division / Guest of Honor Gift Baskets
Department needs someone (pre-convention) to create four baskets, one for each of the Guests of Honor. The volunteer will shop for the basket items based on the Department Head’s instructions. Things to purchase will include food and drink each Guest of Honor likes, and things they will need, for example, zip bags and place settings. We also try to put fun things in each basket.
The ideal person will have time pre-convention in January to do the shopping and basket arranging, and will be creative, organized, and financially responsible (enough to save receipts for reimbursements and to find bargains).
The goal is to have personalized, creative, and attractive baskets in each Guest of Honor’s room before their arrival.
Expenditures will be reimbursed. Transportation is required but not provided by the convention.
If you are interested in this position, please email email@example.com.
Chairman Division / Registration Department
The Registration Department (“Reg”) is looking for people who like to sit behind a table, work a computer, and cheerfully help people to check in, get their badges, and become happy and contented members of our convention. We need morning and afternoon shifts, especially the afternoon/evening area.
Registration is responsible for making sure that everyone who owns a membership gets the appropriate badge with an absolute minimum of trouble. We are friendly, courteous, and unfailingly patient. The work involves data entry, interacting with anime fans, occasionally calling someone over to solve a problem, and quite a bit of hanging out with some very nice people.
If interested please e-mail

Help Wanted: Masquerade Judges’ Clerks

The clerk will stay with the Presentation Judges through the show and into deliberations, where they will record the awards in preparation for printing certificates. They are needed on Saturday from 5PM until the show is done, hopefully around 10:30PM, and will stay through the halftime show and award presentation. It should be 5-6 hours in total.
